Fratelli Roda SA is a family-owned company, founded in 1942 by brothers Luigi and Emilio Roda, dedicated to the creation of packaging solutions.
We are well-established, yet modern, innovative and passionate, with the goal and ambition to satisfy our customers and maintain the renowned Swiss quality.
We want to be one of the links in the value chain for our customers and we strive daily to make our contribution with solutions for economically, socially and ecologically sustainable packaging.
Our company’s core business – the conversion of paper and paperboard – hinges on a process of continuous refinement, encapsulating the main aspects of our philosophy: respect for the environment, sustainable human resource management and technological innovation.
1942
Fratelli Roda was founded in Lugano by brothers Emilio and Luigi Roda.
1945
Introduction of the press department.
1961
As the company continued to grow, the headquarters was moved to a new building in Viganello, where the occupied square metres increased to 6300, almost four times the original size.
1988
Franco and Marco Roda, sons of Luigi Roda and both engineers who graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ), became active in the company, thus ensuring continuity for Fratelli Roda SA.
1991
In December, the company moved to new premises in Taverne.
1997
The company receives ISO 9001 certification.
1998
Acquisition of new Bobst die-cutting machines and an environmentally friendly laminating machine, enabling all processing to be done in house.
2004
A new folding-gluing machine, the Bobst Alpina II, and a CartonPack II boxing robot were introduced.
2006
First KBA 142 in Switzerland! Acquisition of the first 6-colour press equipped for the use of hybrid inks to enhance printed packaging solutions.
2008
Acquisition of a SPanthera 106 LER die-cutting machine.
2009
Acquisition of a CTP SCREEN PlateRite Ultima 1600IIZ system.
2012
The first ACCUCHECK in Switzerland and the 3rd in the world. Introduction of inline quality control with BOBST ACCUCHECK.
2015
Swiss Packaging Award, Design category. Fratelli Roda SA wins the Swiss Packaging Award 2015 with the packaging line produced for Chocolat Stella SA.
2018
Swiss Print Award 2018, Packaging category. With the packaging of Cima Norma's La Belle Epoque Collection, Fratelli Roda SA is awarded category gold.
